Jonathan Crothers

Jonathan Crothers is an Associate Professor of Practice in the Department of Biology at Saint Joseph's University, where he has taught full-time since 2007 after beginning as an adjunct instructor. He currently teaches Anatomy & Physiology and Human Biology courses, previously taught Microbiology laboratories, and serves as co-advisor to the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, member of the Faculty Governance Committee, appointed Faculty Senate representative, and PA College Safety Officer.

Dr. Crothers' research spans Anatomy and Physiology, Human Biology, and Social Identity with focus on embodied learning in athletic contexts, alongside earlier work in Environmental Microbiology and Insect Endocrinology. He holds certifications in Teaching with Simulation from Hershey Medical Center and Teaching of Adult Education in Health Professions.

His scientific recognition includes:

• Finalist, Stoudt Excellence Award in Teaching (2019)

He advises the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and participates in faculty governance while maintaining external commitments as a student at Stevenson School of Ministry, Advisory Board Member for New Choices career training program, and member of The Mission and Justice Committee at St. James Episcopal Church in Lancaster.
