Lauren Haldeman is a Clinical Instructor and Clinical Coordinator of Surgical Technology at Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences and Saint Joseph's University. Currently serving as Program Director of Surgical Technology at Saint Joseph's University (2025–present), she has held roles including Adjunct Instructor (2020), Interim Program Director (2024), and Clinical Coordinator (2020–2024). She coordinates clinical education and teaches surgical technology across multiple institutions.
Education: B.A. in English with a concentration in ESL and a minor in Cultural Anthropology from Millersville University (2009). Certified in Surgical Technology from Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences (2016), graduating Summa Cum Laude. Holds certifications from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting and is a member of the Association of Surgical Technologists and Phi Theta Kappa.
Research and Practice Focus: Her expertise lies in surgical technology education, clinical practice, and healthcare training methodologies. She integrates hands-on experience from roles in optometry (LASIK assistance) and surgical technologist work at Lancaster General Health into her teaching. Awards include the Clinical Excellence Award and Academic Excellence Award from Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences.
Additional Roles: Active volunteer and retired skater for the Dutchland Rollers Roller Derby Team. Enjoys mentoring students, advocating for healthcare education, and community engagement.
