Jonas Ammenberg

Jonas Ammenberg is a Senior Associate Professor and Head of Unit at the Department of Management and Engineering (IEI) at Linköping University, Sweden. He holds a PhD in Environmental Systems Analysis and Management (2003) and a Licentiate degree (2001), with a Master's in Applied Physics and Electrical Engineering (1998). His research focuses on biogas solutions, industrial symbiosis, and corporate sustainability management. As co-founder of the Biogas Solutions Research Center (BSRC), he leads transdisciplinary projects analyzing resource-efficient biogas systems. He represents Sweden in IEA Bioenergy Task 37 and has authored the textbook Miljömanagement, widely used in university courses. His work bridges academia and industry, emphasizing systems thinking and collaboration for sustainable development.

Research Interests: Biogas Production & Utilization, Industrial Symbiosis Networks, Corporate Environmental Strategies, Sustainability Assessment Methods, and Policy-Industry Interactions. Notable contributions include studies on cement industry CO₂ reduction via industrial symbiosis and frameworks for evaluating biogas potential. He actively engages in policy advising, international collaborations, and teaching doctoral courses in sustainability management.

Professional Commitments: Board member of Environmental and Sustainability Auditors in Sweden (until 2024), Swedish representative in IEA Bioenergy Task 37, and co-founder of BSRC. Awards: Royal Scholarship (2002) for pioneering work on environmental management systems' impact on corporate environmental performance. His teaching spans corporate sustainability strategies, environmental technology, and environmental management systems.
