Jonah Levy

Jonah D. Levy is a Professor and Vice Chair of the Department of Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley, where he also serves as Director of Undergraduate Studies. He holds additional roles as Faculty Liaison for the Disabled Students Program (DSP) and Director of Berkeley's Center of Excellence in French Studies. His research focuses on comparative political economy, French and West European politics, and welfare policy, emphasizing historical legacies and contemporary policy conflicts. Levy has authored or edited multiple books, including *Contested Liberalization: Historical Legacies and Contemporary Conflict in France* (2023) and *Rethinking Economic Liberalization* (2023). His work explores state transformation, economic liberalization, and globalization's impact on welfare systems. He has received prestigious teaching awards, including the Phi Beta Kappa Award and recognition as Berkeley’s Undergraduate Political Science Association Professor of the Year.
