Jacob T. Levy is the Tomlinson Professor of Political Theory and Professor of Political Science at McGill University, with an associate membership in the Department of Philosophy. He coordinates the Research Group on Constitutional Studies and directs the Yan P. Lin Centre for the Study of Freedom and Global Orders. His work spans political theory, constitutional studies, and legal theory, with a focus on liberalism, pluralism, federalism, and the history of political thought. He holds degrees from Brown, Princeton, and the University of Chicago. Levy’s research explores tensions between rationalist and pluralist traditions in liberal thought, modern constitutionalism, and the role of intermediate groups in protecting liberty.
