Dan Levy is a Senior Lecturer in Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School (HKS), specializing in quantitative methods, policy analysis, and program evaluation. He co-founded SLATE, an initiative to strengthen teaching excellence, and the Public Leadership Credential, HKS's flagship online learning program. His research focuses on evaluating social programs in education, health, and welfare, with notable projects in Indonesia, Burkina Faso, Niger, and Jamaica.
Levy holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Northwestern University and has conducted extensive work with organizations like JPAL, CID, and the Ash Center. He has authored influential books on teaching with technology, including Teaching Effectively with ChatGPT and Teaching Effectively with Zoom. His consulting spans global institutions such as the World Bank and the Millennium Challenge Corporation, emphasizing evidence-based policy.
Levy’s teaching innovations, including blended learning and the Teachly platform, aim to enhance inclusivity and engagement. He has received awards for teaching excellence and serves on various advisory boards, contributing to policy and education reform worldwide.
