Jon Power is a Lecturer at the University of Chester within the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Society. He transitioned to skeletal biology in 1996 after completing his PhD in helminth parasitology at the University of Portsmouth (collaborating with the National Institute for Medical Research, Mill Hill, London). His academic journey includes technical and postdoctoral positions at the University of Cambridge's Bone Research Group and Orthopaedic Research Unit before becoming a full-time lecturer in 2012.

Teaching responsibilities span histology, microscopy, histopathology, and parasitology. Collaborative research with institutions like the University of Cambridge and clinical partners has produced significant publications in journals including Bone, Journal of Bone and Mineral Research, and Osteoporosis International.
