معرفی
Dr. Jon Koff is an Associate Professor of Medicine (Pulmonary) at Yale School of Medicine and Director of the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program. He specializes in pulmonary critical care and has leadership roles in the Center for Phage Biology & Therapy and the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program. His clinical roles include medical directorship and work in the medical ICU at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Dr. Koff completed his MD at Case Western Reserve University and residency at Brown University, followed by pulmonary fellowship at UCSF. His research focuses on bacteriophage therapy for drug-resistant infections, cystic fibrosis pathogenesis, and pulmonary innate immunity. He leads the CYPHY study on phage therapy for cystic fibrosis patients and investigates EGFR signaling in lung injury.
Research interests include viral infections in cystic fibrosis, phage biology, and translational therapies for antibiotic-resistant pathogens. His work bridges clinical care and laboratory research, with a focus on improving outcomes for cystic fibrosis patients through multidisciplinary approaches and novel treatments like phage therapy.
- Education: Hamilton College (BA), Case Western Reserve (MD)
- Affiliations: CPIRT Center, Winchester Center for Lung Disease, Yale Medicine
- Key Projects: CYPHY study, I-SPY COVID trial, phage pipeline development
Awards include the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Quality Award and recognition for teaching excellence. He serves on the CF Foundation’s Center Committee and chairs the Connecticut Chapter’s board.
Recent publications emphasize phage therapy efficacy, lung injury mechanisms, and collaborative trials in critical care. His lab explores phage-host interactions, cytokine responses, and innovative treatments for antibiotic-resistant infections.
