Jon Andes is a Professor of Practice and Lecturer in the Department of Education Leadership at Salisbury University. With 36 years in public education, he served as Superintendent of Worcester County Public Schools for 16 years, leading it to become one of Maryland's top-performing systems. He retired in 2012 and now contributes to academia while remaining a Board of Education member.

His research interests focus on educational leadership, policy, and school funding, reflected in his authored book Taking the Mystery out of Funding Maryland Public Schools. He has presented globally and received notable awards for his contributions to education.
