Dr. Gina Massella serves as a full-time Lecturer at Loyola University Maryland since fall 2018, leveraging 17+ years of K-12 administrative experience in Maryland public schools. Her distinguished career includes transforming Howard High School from a "school improvement unit" to a top-performing institution during her 11-year tenure as Principal (2004 onward), alongside leadership roles as Department Chair of Social Studies (Baltimore County) and Administrative Director of High Schools (Howard County).
Her academic credentials feature:
- B.S. and M.Ed. in Human Development and Psychology from University of Maryland, College Park
- Ph.D. from Notre Dame of Maryland University
Professional expertise centers on educational leadership and curriculum supervision, evidenced by presentations at National Council for Social Studies and Maryland Council for Social Studies conferences. She currently contributes to the field through service on the Executive Board of the Maryland Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP), with research interests spanning school administration reform and social studies pedagogy.
