Dr. Johnanna Hernandez is an Assistant Professor in Nursing Programs with extensive experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner and educator. She specializes in curriculum development for graduate nursing education and has pioneered the implementation of Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE) in nurse practitioner training.
Her teaching focuses on primary care family nurse practitioner courses, foundational pharmacology, health assessment, and pathophysiology. Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by ANCC since 2002, her clinical practice spans nephrology/internal medicine and primary care family practice.
Dr. Hernandez serves on the ANCC Family Nurse Practitioner National Certification Exam content expert panel and the Texas Nurse Practitioners Education Committee.
