Dr. Travis Dunlap is an Assistant Professor in the Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) program at the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing (VUSN), where he has been affiliated since 2005. He holds a PhD in Nursing Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (2019) and an MSN from VUSN (2002). His clinical practice includes roles as a Nurse Practitioner at Vanderbilt Walk-In Clinics and the Gaylord Opryland Clinic under the Vanderbilt Faculty Practice Network.
Dr. Dunlap’s research focuses on CPAP adherence in sleep apnea patients, mobile healthcare technology utilization, urgent care protocols, and heart failure management. His academic teaching specialties include Advanced Health Assessment, Clinical Reasoning, and Pathophysiology. He has contributed to peer-reviewed publications on topics ranging from heart failure monitoring to MRSA management in critical care settings.
His professional certifications include Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANCC) and his clinical interests extend to leveraging handheld mobile technology in urgent care and improving outcomes in chronic disease populations. Dr. Dunlap is active in professional organizations such as the American Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau.
