John Wilms is a Lecturer at the Supply Chain Management Department of the Asper School of Business, University of Manitoba. With over 20 years of leadership and technology experience, he previously held roles at IBM Canada in sales and business development for life sciences and healthcare sectors, leading global partnerships and air freight logistics initiatives. He later served as Sales Director and President of a North American medtech startup, focusing on market expansion and lean management processes in Asia.
His research and business interests emphasize sustainable transportation solutions for Canada's North, airships, and transportation logistics. He is a member of the University of Manitoba Transport Institute (UMTI) and the Canadian Transportation Research Forum, and serves on the Board of Supply Chain Canada (Manitoba).
Wilms teaches courses in Lean Management, Supply Chain/Operations, and Interpersonal Processes at the Asper School. He holds a BSc (Honours) from McMaster University and an MBA from Schulich School of Business.
