Paul D. Larson is a Professor and CN Professor in Supply Chain Management at the Asper School of Business, University of Manitoba. He served as Head of the Supply Chain Management Department and Director of the Transport Institute (2005-2011), leading significant research initiatives including a $1M provincial grant and pandemic planning projects. His work extends to curriculum development for Supply Chain Canada's accreditation program.
His research focuses on three key areas:
- Supplier Diversity: Examining certification success factors and program effectiveness for underrepresented businesses
- Supply Chain Sustainability: Analyzing environmental, social and economic dimensions of logistics performance
- Risk Management: Developing frameworks like SCREAM for crisis scenarios including pandemics
His publications demonstrate consistent focus on sustainable logistics, risk mitigation, and transportation efficiency. Recent work emphasizes zero-emission freight, SDG interrelationships, and security in humanitarian contexts. Analysis shows emerging emphasis on cross-border comparisons and policy implications.
