John Rojak is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Bass Trombone at the Conservatory of Music, part of the School of Visual, Media and Performing Arts. He also serves as Director of Brass Studies at New York University and holds faculty positions at The Juilliard School, Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers, The Hartt School, Colorado College Summer Music Festival, and Aspen Music Festival and School.
John Rojak earned a Bachelor of Music from Juilliard and held fellowships at the Tanglewood and Waterloo Music Festivals. His research interests focus on Brass Chamber Music, the Role of the Bass Trombone, and Music Pedagogy.
He is a renowned Bass Trombonist with the American Brass Quintet (member since 1991), Orchestra of St. Luke’s, IRIS, New York Pops, and has performed in iconic Broadway shows like Les Misérables. His discography includes solo albums such as Rojak Rocks (2016), The Romantic Bass Trombone, and The Essential Rochut. He has collaborated with composers like Walter Ross and Alan Raph.
