Dan Satterwhite

Dan Satterwhite is a Professor of Trombone at Lynn University's Conservatory of Music, where he has taught since 2009 (previously as Artist Faculty from 2005-2009). He maintains an active career as both educator and performer, serving in multiple academic positions and professional orchestras.

Professor Satterwhite has received notable recognition for his teaching, including the 2015 Deanne and Gerald Gitner and Family Excellence in Teaching Award from Lynn University. He was also a winner of the International Trombone Association's Donald Yaxley Bass Trombone Solo Competition.

As an active performer, Professor Satterwhite serves as Bass Trombonist of the Atlantic Classical Orchestra and Principal Bass Trombone of the Miami City Ballet Orchestra. He has performed with major orchestras including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Metropolitan Opera, and New York City Opera, and has appeared in numerous Broadway productions such as 'Les Misérables,' 'Phantom of the Opera,' and 'The Lion King.' He is also a Yamaha Performing Artist.
