Dr. John Quinn is an Assistant Professor of corporate law at Dublin City University's School of Law and Government within the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences. He serves as Chair of the LLM and MA in Data Protection & Privacy programs and pioneered the interdisciplinary MA in Data Protection and Privacy collaboration with the School of Computing. His research focuses on corporate law's role in regulating companies, emphasizing sustainability, digital privacy, corporate social responsibility, and insolvency.
- Education: BCL (2009), LLM (2011) from NUI Galway; PhD (2015) from DCU. Admitted to the New York bar in 2013.
- Professional Experience: Previously lectured at University College Dublin's Quinn School of Business. Contributed to the Irish Law Reform Commission's 2018 report on Regulatory Powers and Corporate Offences and acted as national expert for an EU Commission project on corporate transparency (2023).
His research interests span corporate governance, regulatory frameworks, and the intersection of technology with legal systems. He has published in journals like Law, Innovation and Technology and International Data Privacy Law, and contributes annual updates on Irish company law to Commercial Law Practitioner. His work bridges legal scholarship with practical corporate governance challenges, emphasizing ethical accountability and systemic reforms.
