John Piprani is a Lecturer in Archaeology at the University of Chester and currently serves as Archaeology Technician at the University of Manchester. His research focuses on Paleolithic and Mesolithic archaeology, particularly lithic technology and hunter-gatherer behavior. He holds a PhD from the University of Manchester, where his thesis explored the Lincombian industry as a transitional Middle to Upper Palaeolithic technology in Britain. His work emphasizes experimental archaeology and material culture studies.
Key research interests include lithic production techniques, hunter-gatherer social dynamics, and the intersection of material culture with identity. He has contributed to conferences like the Immersed in Lithics event at the University of Manchester and published in journals such as Journal of Lithic Studies and International Journal of Historical Archaeology.
