John C. Parrack is a Professor of Spanish and Director of the Spanish MA Program at the University of Central Arkansas's School of Language and Literature. He holds a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on Imperial Spain's literature, particularly Cervantes, the picaresque novel, and the application of historical linguistics to second language acquisition. He has edited works such as La Estrella de Sevilla and contributed to volumes like Ovid in the Age of Cervantes. Currently, he explores art in Cervantes' writings, fragmentation in Ginés Pérez de Hita's Guerras civiles de Granada, and SLA methodologies. Since 2021, he serves on the College Board's CLEP Spanish Language Examination Committee.
