John McGory serves as a Part-Time Lecturer in the Department of Journalism and Communication at Ohio Wesleyan University, where he teaches journalism-centered courses and acts as a transcript advisor.
He holds an M.S. in Journalism from Ohio University and a B.S. in Education from The Ohio State University, forming the foundation of his academic credentials.
His professional expertise spans Journalism, Communication, Media Studies, and Public Relations, informed by decades of practical experience in public affairs, corporate consulting, and international education. This background enables him to bridge theoretical concepts with real-world applications in media and communication.
McGory received the International Teacher of the Year award twice during his tenure at Jianghan University in China.
His career includes significant roles as public affairs director for the Building Industry Association, the inaugural spokesperson for the Ohio Supreme Court, and founder of The McGory Group consulting firm. He is also the author of two books: Seeking Balance and The Wuhan Games.
