Dr. John Mayrose is Professor of Music at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh where he teaches composition, music theory, and aural skills. An accomplished composer, his works have been performed globally at prestigious venues including the Boston Early Music Festival and Aspen Music Festival. Mayrose is a founding member of Pulsoptional, a new music ensemble that records on Innova and Fugufish labels.
His research output includes numerous compositions performed by professional ensembles including Duo 46, New Trombone Collective, and Fireworks Ensemble. Mayrose maintains an active performance schedule focusing on new works for classical/electric guitar and guitar-electronics combinations.
