John J. Mulhern is a Lecturer and Adjunct Associate Professor of Classical Studies at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Arts & Sciences. He holds a PhD from the State University of New York, Buffalo. His research focuses on Greek and Latin philosophical texts, poets, historians, and commentators, particularly their contributions to understanding political behavior. He has served as head of the Fels Institute of Government twice and teaches in the Benjamin Franklin Scholars program. His work bridges classical antiquity and medieval thought, exemplified by studies on Plato, Aristotle, and St. Thomas Aquinas.
