Dr. John Hayton is a Senior Lecturer in Sport Development at Northumbria University. Previously, he held academic roles at Durham University, Hertfordshire University, and Liverpool John Moores University. He earned his PhD in Social Policy and Sociology from Durham University in 2013. His research focuses on sport volunteering, sport management, disability sport, non-profit organizations in sport, and the impact of austerity on sport systems.
