Rachel Ade is a Researcher at Northumbria University, currently working with Dr Daniel Rhind and Dr Ed Cope to evaluate the Football Association’s safeguarding training in football. She holds a PhD (2022) from Northumbria University on perceptions and experiences of organizational stress in elite football academies. Her educational background includes a BSc (Hons) Science and Football from Liverpool John Moores University (likely early studies), a PgDip (Hons) Psychology from Northumbria University (2008), and an MSc Sports Psychology from Liverpool John Moores University (2009).
Her research interests focus on the intersection of sports psychology, organizational dynamics in elite football environments, and safeguarding practices within sports institutions. Prior to her PhD, Rachel worked as a teaching assistant at Newcastle United Football Club delivering BTEC/NVQ qualifications and as an Academic Tutor in the Psychology Department at Sunderland University. She also holds a DTLLS Certificate of Education for Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector.
