John Gurdon

John Gurdon is a renowned British developmental biologist affiliated with the University of Cambridge, where he has served in the Department of Zoology since 1983. His career spans groundbreaking work in nuclear transplantation and cloning, and he co-founded the Gurdon Institute (formerly Wellcome/Cancer Research UK Institute for Cell Biology and Cancer) in 1989, serving as its Chair. Gurdon was previously a Professor of Cell Biology at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (1971-1983) and held positions at the University of Oxford (1962-1971) and Caltech (postdoctoral fellow).
