John G. Sullivan, a Distinguished University Professor at Elon University, holds dual doctorates in ecclesiastical law (J.C.D., 1966) from Lateran University and philosophy (Ph.D., 1982) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He joined Elon's faculty in 1970 and has been recognized for his teaching excellence and scholarly contributions.

Dr. Sullivan's research focuses on the intersection of philosophy, psychology, and spirituality across Eastern and Western traditions.
