John Fitzgerald

John Fitzgerald, M.D., is a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. He serves as the Medical Director for UTSW’s Interstitial Lung Disease Program and as the clinical chief of service for pulmonary diseases at Parkland Memorial Hospital.

Research Interests:
Dr. Fitzgerald focuses on clinical research in pulmonary and critical care medicine, particularly idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), sarcoidosis, and autoimmune diseases. His work as the principal investigator for IPFnet aims to discover novel therapies for IPF, a condition with limited treatment options.
