John Fitzgerald

John Fitzgerald, M.D., is a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he serves as Medical Director for the Interstitial Lung Disease Program and clinical chief of service for pulmonary diseases at Parkland Memorial Hospital. He holds the endowed Elaine Dewey Sammons Chair in Pulmonary Research.

His clinical research focuses on finding new therapies for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis through clinical trials as UT Southwestern's principal investigator for IPFnet. He is also involved in trials related to sarcoidosis and other autoimmune diseases.
