John Chen

John Chen is a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Southern California (USC). Previously, he served for 20 years as the Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery for Kaiser Permanente Hawaii in Honolulu. His clinical focus includes surgical treatment of adult heart disease, valve disease, aneurysmal disease, coronary revascularization, heart failure, and arrhythmia surgery, with expertise in minimally invasive techniques. He is certified by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Chen emphasizes comprehensive cardiac care, from prevention to transplantation, and aims to integrate advanced therapies into community care.
