Marc Moon

Dr. Marc Moon, a distinguished professor and chief of cardiothoracic surgery, holds multiple leadership roles at Baylor College of Medicine, including Chief of the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Chief of Adult Cardiac Surgery at the Texas Heart Institute, and Chief of the Adult Cardiac Surgery Section at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center. He holds the Denton A. Cooley, MD Chair in Cardiac Surgery through the St. Luke’s Foundation and serves as Program Director for the Aortic Surgery Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine.

His clinical practice addresses highly specialized cases such as cardiac surgery for pregnant women and re-operative cardiac procedures. He has pioneered innovations in thoracic aorta disease management and women’s heart disease treatment.

His recent publications center on cardiac surgery protocols during pandemics and long-term outcomes of surgical ablation. These works reflect his commitment to advancing surgical practices under extreme conditions and improving arrhythmia management. Dr. Moon has also been a vocal advocate for diversity in cardiac surgery, influencing professional discourse on inclusion.
