Matthew Powers

Dr. Matthew Powers is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California. He specializes in surgical treatments for adult heart disease including coronary revascularization, temporary ventricular assist devices, and minimally invasive procedures. Dr. Powers completed his medical degree at New York University School of Medicine, surgical training at LAC+USC Medical Center, and cardiothoracic fellowship at Columbia University/New York Presbyterian Hospital.

His research focuses on complex thoracic aortic diseases and advanced valve repair techniques. Dr. Powers is board-certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgeons and emphasizes patient education through visual aids to explain surgical procedures and recovery pathways.
