Dr. John Cathcart is Senior Lecturer and Associate Head of School at Ulster University's School of Health Sciences, affiliated with the Institute of Nursing and Health Research. Based at the Derry~Londonderry and Jordanstown campuses, he conducts research in medical imaging applications for healthcare challenges.
His research focuses on:

- MRI applications in pressure ulcer prevention
- Musculoskeletal injury prevention in athletes
- Radiography education and mentorship practices
