Johan Kask

Professor Johan Kask is a leading academic at the University of Inland Norway’s Inland School of Business and Social Sciences, affiliated with the Department of Business Administration and the Center for Research on Digitalization and Sustainability (CREDS). He holds a doctorate in business administration (2013) and a docent degree in marketing (2020) from Örebro University, Sweden, and is a senior research affiliate there. His research focuses on business networks, industry transitions, sustainable business models, and evolutionary approaches to management. Kask’s work spans qualitative methods like scenario analysis and case studies, addressing topics such as entrepreneurial ecosystems, digitalization challenges, and low-carbon transitions.

He serves on editorial boards for Journal of Small Business Enterprise Development and Industrial Marketing Management, and collaborates internationally with networks like Evolutionary Approaches in Management Studies and the IMP group. His research groups include Smarter Greener Innovation (SGI) and Sustainable Ecosystem Transition (SET). Kask has contributed to prestigious journals such as Environmental Innovation & Societal Transitions and Technological Forecasting & Social Change, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to sustainability and innovation.

Notable projects include exploring dark sides of digitalization in entrepreneurship and analyzing deep-tech startup challenges.
