Jodie Hayob is Professor of Geology and Chair of the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Mary Washington. She holds a Ph.D. (1994) and M.S. (1989) in geology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a B.S. (1987) in geology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research focuses on petrology, mineralogy, and geochemistry, with publications in journals including American Mineralogist, Contributions to Mineralogy and Petrology, and Nature.

Dr. Hayob has secured significant funding, including a National Science Foundation STEP grant ($444,000) to enhance STEM education and a $247,241 NSF grant for acquiring a variable-pressure scanning electron microscope (SEM) used across geology, biology, physics, and chemistry. She served as associate editor for the National Association of Geoscience Teachers' workshop on 21st-century mineralogy education and collaborates with the Virginia Urban Corridor Teacher Preparation Collaborative.
