Dr. Jodi Cooley is a Professor in the Department of Physics at Southern Methodist University (SMU). Her research focuses on unraveling the nature of dark matter, a critical component constituting 26.8% of the universe. She employs advanced cryogenic detectors to distinguish dark matter interactions from background noise.
- Education: B.S. in Applied Mathematics and Physics (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 1997), M.S. and Ph.D. in Physics (University of Wisconsin-Madison, 2000/2003)
Research Interests include dark matter detection, particle astrophysics, and cryogenic technologies. She leads the SMU SuperCDMS dark matter experiment and has contributed significantly to precision cosmology advancements.
