Yan Liu

Yan Liu is an Assistant Professor at the School of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Minnesota, focusing on experimental searches for physics beyond the Standard Model and dark matter research. He is based at the Physics and Nanotechnology Building in Minneapolis, MN.

• Member of the SuperCDMS collaboration for dark matter detection
• Develops cryogenic detector technology for novel particle physics experiments
• Conducts research in high-energy physics and experimental particle astrophysics

His work involves underground experiments with Germanium/Silicon detectors and characterization of phonon/charge sensors. He leads a local test facility for advancing detector technologies.
