Joanne Addison is a Professor in the Department of English at the University of Colorado Denver, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She has held significant administrative roles including Director of Composition and Co-Director of the Denver Writing Project, and previously served as Chair of Faculty Assembly and developer of a campus-wide mentoring program.
Dr. Addison's research focuses on empowering people through increased access to written literacy. Her work bridges academic theory with practical application in writing instruction, particularly examining barriers during the high school to college transition. She has expanded her research into critical media literacy and digital ethics to address contemporary challenges in mass digital writing.
