Research Interests: Addison's research focuses on the relationship between objects and the body, guided by theories of objecthood, material behavior, and studio practice. She investigates how materials' physical properties shape artistic decision-making, often remaking sculptures to condense their essence. Collaborative projects with Natasha Kidd extend this inquiry to educational settings, staging learning outside institutional constraints and subverting traditional pedagogical hierarchies.
Publications & Projects: Her work spans studio-based sculpture, educational research, and curated exhibitions like Work Work (2017), which examine the intersection of artistic production and teaching. Articles and chapters address themes such as productivity redefined as art/pedagogy/research, regulation and care in artistic behavior, and studio practice as a site for learning.
