JJ Chan is a Senior Lecturer in Fine Art at Kingston School of Art, Kingston University. He teaches BA Fine Art and Art History students and supervises PhD researchers. Chan co-convenes the Material:Pedagogy:Future research network and is a member of the anti-racist collective A Particular Reality.
His artistic practice explores:
- Lived experience through sculpture and moving image
- Identity construction and alternative realities
- Collaborative community projects
- Critiques of capitalist temporality
Chan holds a BA in Fine Art, MA in Sculpture, and PGCert in Art and Design Education from the Royal College of Art.
