Joanna Alcruz, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership for Diverse Learning Communities at Molloy College's School of Education and Human Services. She specializes in educational psychology, assessment, and data-driven instruction. Her research focuses on academic procrastination, motivation, and inclusive classroom management strategies.
Dr. Alcruz holds a Ph.D. in Education from Fordham University (2009), an M.A. in Education from New York University’s Steinhardt School (2002), and a B.S. in Education from NYU Steinhardt (2000). She co-founded the Cognition and Learning Lab (CogLe) at Molloy College, advancing research in cognition, creativity, and educational innovation.
Her recent publications emphasize equitable classroom practices, ethical data use, and self-regulated learning in hybrid environments. She has authored books on student-centered classrooms and presented on digital engagement strategies in online education.
Alcruz’s work bridges theory and practice, addressing the needs of diverse learners through evidence-based methodologies and policy advocacy.
