Carrie McDermott

Carrie McDermott is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of Graduate TESOL Programs at Molloy College's Department of Education. She holds a BA in Textiles Development and Marketing from SUNY FIT, an M.S. in Childhood and TESOL from Molloy College's School of Education and Human Services, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Administration from Saint John's University.

Her research focuses on blended/online learning, curriculum design, collaborative instruction for English Learners (ELs), and culturally responsive pedagogies. She has published extensively on topics such as co-taught mathematics instruction for multilingual learners and culturally responsive teaching strategies.

McDermott has served on the AHRC, Nassau Board since 2021 and was a member of NYS TESOL from 2015–2018. Her work emphasizes equity-driven practices in diverse educational settings.
