Jacqueline Nenchin

Jacqueline Nenchin is a Professor in the Writing Center Professional Tutor Faculty at Molloy College, affiliated with the School of Education and Human Services and the English Department. She teaches graduate courses in linguistics, grammar, and foreign language pedagogy, alongside undergraduate courses in composition, linguistics, and Russian literature.

• Education: PhD in Linguistics from Macquarie University, MS in TESOL from Molloy College, MA in Russian from Vanderbilt University, BA in Russian & German Dual from SUNY Oswego.

Her research focuses on Systemic Functional Linguistics, its applications to pedagogy and translation, second language writing, and the role of language in social contexts. She also explores translation challenges in literary works and the pedagogical implications of linguistic diversity.

Her publications highlight collaborative teaching models, ELL instructional strategies, and academic literacy disparities between native and nonnative English-speaking educators. These works intersect with themes in ESL instruction, teacher training, and educational partnerships.
