Joan Conaway

Joan Conaway holds a Professor (Affiliate) position at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Kansas Medical Center. She is also an Investigator at the Stowers Institute for Medical Research and has held roles such as Interim Head of the Program in Molecular and Cell Biology at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF). Her professional appointments include Adjunct Professorships at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and affiliation with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. She has extensive postdoctoral and research experience, including training at Stanford University School of Medicine and DNAX Research Institute.

She has served on prestigious advisory boards, including the National Cancer Institute's Board of Scientific Counselors and the Scientific Advisory Board of the Institute for Genetics and Molecular and Cellular Biology (IGBMC). Her editorial contributions include roles with the Journal of Biological Chemistry and Annual Review of Biochemistry.
