Jay C. Dunlap is a Nathan Smith Professor of Genetics and Professor of Molecular and Systems Biology, Biochemistry, and Cell Biology at the Geisel School of Medicine, Dartmouth College. His lab focuses on circadian biology, clock mechanisms, and high-throughput functional genomics of Neurospora and Aspergillus species.
Research interests include
- Molecular basis of circadian rhythms
- Temperature and nutritional compensation in biological clocks
- Clock-controlled gene expression
- Interplay between circadian systems and cellular metabolism
Recent publications highlight circadian clock compensation mechanisms and fungal genomics advancements. Former students and postdocs from the Dunlap-Loros lab have pursued academic and research roles globally, including at the University of Oklahoma, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and UT Southwestern Medical Center. The lab provides archived resources like Neurospora knockout strains through the Fungal Genetics Stock Center.
