Joan A. Sereno is a Professor of Linguistics at the University of Kansas, with a focus on psycholinguistics and neurolinguistics. She also serves as Division Director of Behavioral and Cognitive Sciences at the National Science Foundation (NSF). Her research explores language processing, second language acquisition, and the intersection of speech perception and production with neurobiological mechanisms. She holds a B.S. and B.A. from Northern Illinois University, and M.A. and Ph.D. in Linguistics from Brown University.
