Joakim Gullstrand is the Dean of Lund University School of Economics and Management (LUSEM) and a Professor of International Economics. He leads strategic development, quality assurance, and external partnerships at LUSEM. Previously, he served as Head of the Department of Economics and held leadership roles in accreditation bodies (EQUIS, AMBA, AACSB). His research focuses on firm-international market interactions, export/import dynamics, and food chain sustainability. He has published extensively on topics such as offshoring, FDI, trade policy, and biodiversity in agriculture.
Education: PhD in Economics (Lund University, 2002). Leadership experience includes 10+ years as a professor and roles in think tanks. Teaching specialties include international trade theory and food economics. Collaborations span global institutions like the University of Melbourne and Deakin University. Projects include analyzing SME resilience, global value chains, and regional economic growth. Active in policy-oriented research, such as EU integration impacts and sanctions effects.
