Dr Jo Fiore is an Associate Professor in Sport and Physical Activity Development at the University of Greenwich, affiliated with the School of Human Sciences within the Faculty of Education, Health and Human Sciences. She holds a BSc (Hons) and PhD, with expertise in sport policy, health promotion, and behavior change. Her current role began in 2013, following a part-time lecturing position at London Metropolitan University from 2009 to 2013.
Her research focuses on sport participation dynamics, Olympic legacy planning, and policy-driven interventions to enhance physical activity. She teaches courses on sports policy, performance monitoring, and nutrition. Recent work includes systematic reviews on Olympic Games impacts and post-event health outcomes.
Dr Fiore’s publications emphasize leveraging major events like the London 2012 Olympics to drive long-term public health benefits. She actively supervises doctoral students and contributes to academic discourse on youth engagement and global sport development.
