Jo Boaler is the Nomellini and Olivier Professor in the Graduate School of Education at Stanford University. She holds affiliations with the Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI) and the Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute. Her research focuses on mathematics teaching methodologies, promoting equity in classrooms, and integrating data science across school curricula. Boaler advocates for 'growth mindset' pedagogies and collaborative learning environments.
Education: BSc in Psychology (Liverpool University, 1985), MA (1991) and PhD (1996) in Mathematics Education from King's College, London.
