Professor Jo-Anne Murray is an Honorary Professor at the University of Glasgow’s School of Biodiversity, One Health & Veterinary Medicine. She holds dual roles as Assistant Vice-Principal for Digital Education and Deputy Dean of Graduate Studies in the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences (MVLS). With a PhD in Equine Nutrition and an MSc in e-learning, she specializes in educational innovation and equine nutrition. Her research bridges digital education strategies, including MOOCs and mobile apps, with equine gut health and dietary studies. Key roles include leading the BOLD project on blended learning and investigating the impact of starch-rich diets on equine behavior and microbiota. She has over 137 publications, including peer-reviewed articles on topics like faecal microbiome dynamics and online learning experiences. Awards include Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and Registered Nutritionist status. She actively contributes to equine conferences globally and collaborates on interdisciplinary projects, such as the Easter Bush Farm virtual world initiative.
