Jing Wang is an Associate Professor at the School of Human Resource Management within York University's Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies. She holds a PhD in Industrial Relations and Human Resources from the University of Toronto, an MILR from Cornell University, and a BA from Peking University.
Her research focuses on diversity management, strategic human resources, work-life balance, underemployment, and labor policies in China. Notable awards include the Academy of Management Best Student Paper Award and the Emerald Literati Network's Outstanding Paper Award (2013). Her work has been published in top journals like Human Resource Management and British Journal of Industrial Relations.
Key themes in her publications include minimum wage impacts in China, sexual minority workplace well-being, and the congruence between employee emotional labor and customer perception. Her research bridges organizational behavior, labor economics, and policy analysis.
Previously, she served at Saint Mary's University and worked in HR roles at multinational firms in China.
